Purchase comparison
Makeup-brush set cost calculator
Compare the outlay for a brush set with the individual purchases you would actually make. Add any tools missing from the set and each route's delivery charge. Use your own prices in one currency.
First check that both shopping routes cover the tasks you need. This calculator compares entered costs; it does not check brush quality, fit or equivalent performance.
Your entries stay on this page while it is open. They are not sent to analytics or saved automatically. Printing creates a copy under your control.

A printed copy reflects entries at that time. A lower total does not establish equivalent quality, handling, fit, care or lifespan.
How to compare two complete shopping choices
List the tasks your existing kit does not cover, then choose the actual purchases for each route. The set route contains the set plus any additional purchases needed alongside it. The individual route contains only the separate items you would buy instead. Leave out an included extra you would not otherwise purchase when describing what you need; do not give it an invented cash value.
Enter quoted prices on the same tax basis and in a single currency. If a route contains purchases from several shops, combine that route's applicable delivery charges yourself. The calculator does not look up delivery thresholds, convert currencies, apply discount codes or predict future prices.
What the totals mean
Set-route total equals the set price, additional purchase lines and delivery for that route. Individual-route total equals the selected individual purchase lines and their delivery. The difference is the first total minus the second. A positive difference means the individual route is lower; a negative difference means the set route is lower.
The displayed result is conditional on your entries and coverage confirmation. It does not mean the tools have equal materials, handling, care, useful life or application results. An unused brush or bag is not a saving simply because it contributes to a piece count.
A fictional example
A quoted set is 36 currency units, an additional required tool costs 9, and delivery is 4: total 49. The alternative individual purchases total 42 with delivery of 3: total 45. The individual route is 4 units lower. These are invented numbers to explain the arithmetic, not current product prices.
When no purchase is needed
If your existing tools already cover your intended routine, there may be nothing to compare. The calculator does not recommend a minimum brush count or make a reason to buy a set. Use the set-versus-individual guide to review the inventory first.
Paper alternative
With JavaScript unavailable, record the set price, required additions and delivery, then add them. Separately add the individual purchases and their delivery. Compare the two totals only after checking that the options cover your intended jobs. The blank worksheet above can be printed without enabling JavaScript.
