Trust and methods
Editorial and testing policy
Clear labels for what we researched, what we observed and what we have not tested.
Accessory decision guides
Compare complete constructions, usable dimensions, care, storage and ownership costs. Product examples establish only the documented feature or instruction of the exact item. Record each source's scope, limitations and actual verification date. Do not transfer care instructions, garment stretch figures or performance claims to another product. Fictional arithmetic must identify its inputs and excluded costs. Reusable and disposable formats do not establish a skin or environmental winner. Keep remover pads distinct from makeup-application sponges and puffs.
Source hierarchy
We prefer product care labels and manuals for exact-use instructions; regulators and standards bodies for labeling; credible specialist organizations for general context; and manufacturer specifications for facts about that exact product. Retailers and forums help identify vocabulary and real questions, but neither is treated as sole proof for broad factual or health claims.
Content selection
Search terms are grouped by the answer a reader needs, not by superficial word variants. One query family normally resolves to one canonical page. Medical, duplicative, unfocused and unsupported claim-led terms are rejected or deferred. Dates change only after a material review.
Research, inspection and hands-on testing
Desk research
Source and specification comparison without possessing the item.
Product inspection
Physical examination of construction, labels and supplied documentation.
Hands-on testing
A documented protocol, repeat use or care cycles, observations and original photographs.
“Tested,” “reviewed” and “best” require real products, a stated method, recorded observations and evidence appropriate to the claim. No launch guide is a hands-on product review.
Images and evidence
Buying-detail guides keep fabric weight, dimensions, fiber, weave and finished construction separate. Manufacturer examples support only the exact documented claims; missing specifications stay unknown. Original diagrams and fictional arithmetic examples are labeled, with text equivalents. Publication dates reflect substantive content work, rather than navigation changes. New accessory categories require evidence review rather than assumed search demand.
Original review photography should show the received product, label, construction, scale, condition and relevant test setup. Designed illustrations may explain a neutral concept but never stand in as evidence that a product was handled.
AI assistance and human responsibility
AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting, code and quality checks. Claims, sources, page intent and publication decisions must still be reviewed against this policy. AI-generated people, experts, experiences, product observations and test results are prohibited.
Corrections, updates and commercial independence
Material factual corrections are made promptly and documented through an accurate updated date. Affiliate relationships do not determine conclusions. A page-level disclosure must appear before the first affiliate link, and researched products must not be described as tested.
