Sleep Accessories guide
Sleep-mask sizes and fit: separate the panel, eye space and strap
Separate sleep-mask panel dimensions, cup space and strap fit range. Record two listings and unresolved measurements without an automatic fit score.
A sleep mask has several useful dimensions. Panel width and height describe the front outline; cup measurements describe a shaped area; a strap length or fitting range describes a different part of the assembly. Compare numbers only after identifying what each one measures.
Use three separate measurement groups
| Group | Examples of useful information | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Front panel | Width, height and shape | A fitting circumference or complete light blocking |
| Eye area | Cup depth, usable eye space and permitted adjustment | A guaranteed match to your face |
| Strap and fastening | Laid-out length, stated fit range and required overlap | That the different measurement types are interchangeable |

One size can be a product label without any of these measurements. Treat it as a prompt to look for more detail, not as evidence that dimensions do not matter.
Read the definition beside the number
The Bucky 40 Blinks Black listing supplies approximate panel and cup measurements. That information concerns that named item. Another colour or revision may list a different figure, so do not combine them into a standard mask dimension.
Manta's UK FAQ distinguishes a fully laid-out length from fitting circumference for a named model. Other pages use different wording and figures. Keep the source and model with the measurement; this guide does not publish a reconciled Manta size chart or infer a fitting range from conflicting pages.
Convert the unit without changing its meaning
An inch is 2.54 centimetres. In a fictional example, a listed width of 9 inches converts to 22.86 centimetres. It remains a panel width after conversion; it does not become a circumference, recommended head size or amount of coverage around the sides.
Record the maker's original number and unit as well as any conversion. Preserve approximate wording. Rounding an approximate listing to several decimal places does not make the original measurement more precise.
Do not turn the numbers into a fit score
A width that appears suitable cannot settle the nose edge, side profile or the way the strap rests. Likewise, a stated circumference range does not establish your preferred eye space. These are connected parts of an assembly, not independent boxes whose measurements can certify the result.
If you already own a mask, describe the specific change you need: more clearly documented panel coverage, a different eye-area shape or hardware in another location. Those observations can guide questions without becoming a medical or anatomical assessment.
Use the shape comparison for flat versus contoured designs. Use straps and closures when adjustment is the main question.
Compare listings in one record
The record below keeps panel, cup, strap, care and source information for two candidates. Leave missing details written as unknown. It does not calculate a recommended size, approve a fit or predict a light-gap result.
You can print a blank record or enter your own listing notes while the page is open. No entries are saved automatically or sent to analytics. Reset clears only this record, and a new page instance starts blank.
Confirm the parts that paper cannot settle
When possible under the seller's actual terms, inspect how the assembled mask sits and operates. Read those terms for the specific item and market before assuming it can be returned after opening or use. This guide supplies no universal trial or return policy.
Choose from documented dimensions and operation, then keep any untested fit question explicit. A purchase may remain uncertain even when the specification is complete; a larger number or stronger blackout headline does not remove that uncertainty.
Record two mask listings
Keep the maker's wording and original units with each measurement. This record organises information; it does not test the mask or calculate a fit score.
Blank means unrecorded, not approved. Entries stay in this page instance only; nothing is saved automatically or sent to analytics. Reset clears this record. Printed copies reflect the entries at that time.

Evidence and source notes
This guide compares documented specifications and practical buying choices. It does not report a hands-on product test.
- Bucky: 40 Blinks Sleep Mask, Black (manufacturer; checked 2026-10-27). Exact listing's approximate panel/cup dimensions, component disclosure and model-specific care. Other colours/listings use slightly different dimensions; do not merge them.
- Manta UK: model-specific FAQ (manufacturer; checked 2026-10-27). Demonstrates separate laid-out length and stated fitting circumference. Some measurements/material wording differ from other Manta pages; do not combine versions into one specification.
