Labels and Care Accessories guide
Care-label symbols for face accessories: read the whole instruction
Understand textile care-label groups, washing limits and product instructions for face accessories. Record the exact label before choosing a wash or drying method.
A textile care label gives limits for the article carrying it; it is not a generic routine for every item made from the same fiber. Read the complete label and any product instructions before selecting a wash or drying method. Keep a detachable component's directions separate when its maker gives a different care path.
Recognise the treatment group first
The GINETEX system groups textile care into washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional care. In that system, the number in a wash tub gives a maximum temperature in degrees Celsius. Bars below the tub distinguish milder mechanical treatment. A temperature number does not describe the complete process.

Drying instructions also need their own check. Permission for one treatment does not imply permission for another. Follow the exact variant shown, using the official reference if you are unsure. Labels in other systems or markets may use different presentation, and the maker may provide additional text.
| Information to record | Question it answers | Do not infer |
|---|---|---|
| Washing instruction | Whether and how washing is permitted | Every cycle below a temperature is equivalent |
| Bleaching instruction | Whether a specified treatment is allowed | Pale fabric can automatically be bleached |
| Drying instruction | Which drying process is permitted | Wash permission includes tumble drying |
| Ironing instruction | Whether and how ironing is permitted | All panels and trims tolerate the same heat |
| Professional-care instruction | Which professional process is indicated | A home method is an equivalent substitute |
| Additional text or manual | Whole-item and component restrictions | A shell-fabric label governs electronics or inserts |
Match the label to the exact article
Keep the product name or model alongside the instruction. A loose label photo is less helpful if it is unclear which pillowcase, pad or mask it came from. For a set containing different articles, check whether the instruction covers the set or only one piece.
The fiber disclosure and care instruction answer different questions. Knowing that an item is silk, cotton or microfiber does not reconstruct a missing care label for its seams, elastic, backing or decoration.
Check combined items before choosing a cycle
When a permitted wash uses a bag or several compatible items, all applicable directions need to allow the process you select. A shared temperature limit alone does not resolve different mechanical-action or drying requirements.
For an illustrative paper exercise, imagine one label specifies a mild washing process and another accessory's instructions allow only hand washing. Putting the second item inside the first item's bag does not transfer the first permission to it. No actual product method is prescribed by this example.
Keep missing and conflicting information visible
If the symbol cannot be identified, the label is missing or the manual contradicts it, ask the manufacturer about that exact article. Leave the method unresolved while awaiting clarification. An online material guide is not evidence of permission for an unknown assembly.
Make a small care record
Write down the article, the five treatment groups, any extra text and the unresolved questions. Use the official symbol reference rather than guessing from a lookalike icon. Once the instructions are clear, use the relevant product-care guide to organise the practical steps.
